An Invitation
Please join us on Thursday 4 May at 7.00pm for an evening of music, song, and conversations about our school local and family history project "At the Crossroads".
The evening will feature:
- A presentation of students' family research projects from the 1913-1923 period
- An interim investigation report on the Cabra Cross Murders of 4 April 1923. This report sets out to shed light on the events of that sad night and present the findings made to date of the causes that may have been behind such an incident. Hopefully, it will provide an opportunity for more evidence and information about the event to be revealed
- A talk by Commandant Daniel Ayiotis, officer in charge at The Military Archives, Cathal Brugha Barracks entitled "Ashtown: Analysis of an Ambush". In his presentation Dan will examine the Ashtown Ambush of 1919 in which Martin Savage was shot and killed during a failed assassination attempt on Lord French, Viceroy of Ireland.
This invitation is extended to everyone in our school community past and present. By attending you will gain an understanding about what the project aims to do and to help encourage you to become involved.
Light refreshments will be served.
