6th Yr Newsletter January, 2024.
Good Afternoon to you all,
I hope you got to enjoy Christmas and had a restful break and look forward to a prosperous and productive New Year. We are now entering the last and most important term for the lads with only 15 weeks of class time left !
Attendance and punctuality will be very important over the next 15 weeks as final preparations are being made for exams and projects.
After School Studies will start back for a new term on Monday 15th January and will run on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for 2 hours each day. It will run for the 15 weeks and will cost €120. Food will be provided before studies start.
The Leaving Certificate Oral Exams will take place during the first week of the Easter Holidays this year, between Saturday 23rd and Thursday 29th March. Please be aware that we cannot work exam schedules around holidays and grinds.
Mock exams for 6th Years will begin on Wednesday 24th January and not the 29th as shown on the calendar. Timetables to follow shortly.
Issue of Exam Numbers: Candidates are required to register with the State Examinations Commission through the Candidate Self Service Portal on the State Examinations Commission website. This will be opened by the State Examinations Commission on 17th January. Students will be given guidance around this process. Exam numbers will be issued after this process is completed.
Finally, after the Mock Exams, all projects will be due to be finished and handed up. It will be important that the lads are keeping up with the work and not rushing at the last minute.
As soon as any other information regarding the exams becomes available, I will pass it on to you.
Le meas,
D. Ó Laighin (6th Year Year Head)
