Advent 2021

Advent 2021

Last Saturday evening Christians all over the world entered into the Season of Advent - a four week period of preparation for Christmas. Advent invites us to look back, and forward. We think about the first coming of Christ in Bethlehem, and we also look towards his Second Coming at the end of time. The Season of Advent can so easily pass us by in the rush to Christmas. That would be a pity. St John the Baptist, and Our Lady are the great role models of Advent. John invites us to conversion, and Our Lady encourages us to be still before the mystery the world is about to celebrate once more - that God has come among us in the baby born in Bethlehem. The Traditional Advent Wreath helps us in our journey. As each week passes the lights of it increase, a reminder that in the coming of Jesus the light began to chase away the darkness.

The great call of Advent is ‘Marantha’, Come Lord Jesus. Enjoy the Advent Journey.
