On 17 March 2023, 5th year student James Guerrero will have the amazing honour of playing in Carnegie Hall as a member of the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland. James is a gifted cellist and has been with the orchestra for the last five years. Both he and his sister Jeannine, a Leaving Certificate student in Dominican College Griffith Avenue, have been honoured by being chosen to make the trip to play in New York.

The Orchestra has been extremely busy in the lead up to the 'Ancora' event. They played seven Peace Proms concerts in the Sports Arena, University of Limerick in January over two weekends, four in Simmonscourt arena RDS, Dublin at the beginning of February with a further two concerts scheduled for SSE arena Belfast at the end of the month.

Before their departure for America they will play four concerts in the SETU Sports Arena Waterford. It has been a gruelling few months for all the young performers who come together to practice and play from right across the island of Ireland.

We wish them a wonderful trip to New York on what is the highlight of their performing career to date. Having heard James perform for the school on many occasions we know how exceptional the orchestra's standard is.
