St Declan's College Intercultural week takes place this year from 4 - 12 May, beginning with our Crossroads event next Thursday at 7.00pm in the school sports hall. All are invited and entry is free.
Friday 5 May is Blessed Edmund Rice feast day. A whole school mass will be celebrated on the feast day by school chaplain Fr Joe Keegan in the Most Precious Blood Church, Cabra West. Mass begins at 12 noon.
Following this will be a week long celebration of our cultural diversity as expressed through food, artefacts, language, dress and many other expressions of identity. Each day will see a different cultural group hosting an event for the other students. An hour long immersion offering varied experiences will be available. All of the year groups will have a time allocation when they can participate in a shared experience which we hope will increase everyone's understanding of the backgrounds from where our school community is drawn.
Tickets to these events are limited and priced at €2 each. They will be on sale in the cafeteria during the small break each day up until Monday 8 May 2023.
We are really looking forward to what promises to be the highlight of the school year.
