Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

We are writing to you on behalf of St Declan’s Parents’ Council to update you on how we intend to go forward following the easing of Covid restrictions.

Firstly, we would like to extend a warm welcome to the parents and students who are new to the community of St Declan’s College. We wish you a happy and fulfilling experience here, so that your son reaches his full potential as a student and an individual during his

time here. The role of the Parents’ Council is a forum to discuss issues that impact on the overall student body and how we as parents can support the school for the good of all students.

Under normal circumstances and pre pandemic we held open meetings in the school on the first Tuesday of each month during the school year and all parents / guardians were welcome to attend. However, we have not been a position to hold such a meeting since

the 3rd of March 2020 due to the pandemic. We envisage that going forward and with the easing of the restrictions we will be able to recommence in person Parents’ Council

Meetings in the school library. Currently, it is not possible to permit unlimited numbers to attend the meetings. Therefore, we believe that the most appropriate and fair way to proceed would be to have one parent/guardian representative attend the meeting on behalf of each academic year.

To this end if you would be able to attend the Parents’ Council Meeting on behalf of your son’s year, we would ask that you would forward an e-mail with an expression of interest to this e-mail address stdeclansparentscouncil@gmail.com

We hope to recommence the Parents’ Council Meetings on Tuesday the 2nd of November 2021 at 8.00pm in the school Library and we look forward to meeting those who can give of their time to attend.

Kind Regards,

Tina O’Sullivan (Secretary 087 411 4340)
