St Declan’s College vs St Mac Dara's

First win of the season for our U14 Boys team who played away to St Mac Dara's this week. For all our players it was their first ever win in the St. Declan’s jersey after a disappointing season last year. St Declan’s started out very strong with Lee O’Keefe, Josh O’Brien and Conor Maguire hitting the back of St Mac Dara's net in the first half. At half time St Declan’s were leading 3-3 to St. Mac Daras 0-1.

It looked to be a solid win for our boys until St Mac Daras hit back with 2 fast goals and an unfortunate penalty against us. St Declan’s however, fought back to keep their lead with points being fired over the bar throughout the second half. The drive to claim their first win motivated St Declan’s to power through and push themselves to fight till the end. At full time the score stood at 4-5 St Mac Daras to 3-14 St. Declan’s.

After a strong performance from all involved St Declan’s earned a well-deserved 6-point win for their first round of the U14 competition.

The next match is set for October 3rd and it will be a home match for the boys against Portmarnock Community College.

Well done lads!!!
